Project Description
With a special interest in infertility and minimal access surgery, Dr Dasoo forms part of a small number of doctors in South Africa that have specialised in fertility and HIV/ AIDS research.
As a member of the South African Society of Reproductive Science and Surgery (SASRSS), the South African Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SASOG), the Genecology Management Group (GMG), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the College of Medicine, Dr Dasoo has access to a global network of experts who share their knowledge, learnings and experiences to ensure a progressive development of the medical industry as it relates to fertility.
Established as a well-respected fertility specialist, Dr Dasoo together with Dr Cassim currently head up a hi-tech, world-class fertility center in Brenthurst called BioART (Assisted Reproductive Technology).
Dr Dasoo also runs a Private Practice in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Garden City Clinic in Johannesburg. This coupled with a his Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive Physiology completed at the University of Witwatersrand in 2005 has enabled Dr Dasoo, as a part-time lecturer, to share his expertise and experiences with his students at the University of Witwatersrand’s Medical School.
Background
After completing a MBBCH at the University if Witwatersrand in 1988, Dr Dasoo accepted an internship at the Baragwanath Hospital where he began laying a solid foundation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O & G). Dr Dasoo soon became a Medical Officer at the Department of O & G at the Baragwanath Hospital. In 1990 Dr Dasoo joined the Department of Urology as a Medical Officer at the same Hospital. 1994 marked the completion of his Registrar training in O & G, wining the Elsa Boes Memorial Prize as well as the C. F Kriege Memorial Prize. He then obtained his fellowship in the College of O & G.
In 1995 Dr Dasoo began consulting in O & G at the Baragwanath Hospital before opening a Private Practice at the Garden City Clinic in 1996.
